très bon livre très belles illustrations à recommander bel ouvrage historique sur la prestidigitation c'est vraiment un très gros pavé!!!
Plus qu'un beau livre, voici la pièce maitresse de tout magicien averti ou collectionneur. Sont rassemblées une somme incroyable d'affiches, photographies, documents sur la magie du moyen âge à nos jours (fin des années 50). Une iconographie unique, présentée dans un format qui les met en valeur, puisque l'ouvrage mesure 50 x 32 cm. La présentation de l'éditeur ci-dessus est totalement fidèle. Un ouvrage unique et bluffant.

I think I gave myself a hernia lifting it from the UPS guy, but what an incredible book!Opening this book is like stepping into a wonderland of information, color and knowledge. The picture and poster reprints are so vivid and clean. The text is kept to the factual minimum, and very well written.All of the folks involved with this book are to be commended for a book that will go into history as one of the most colorful, comprehensive conglomerations of general and graphic knowledge ever compiled.I will be reading this one for years.DonB!
I'm sure the text in this book is comprehensive and well researched. But I haven't been able to read the text... I keep getting pulled into the astounding pictures. Taschen makes picture books the way they should be made- carefully color corrected, well printed, perfect proportion between text and images and BIG. This book is larger than my Audubon Baby Elephant Folio. It's the biggest book I've ever seen. When I received this, I rushed right out and bought Circus, Ornament and Da Vinci. I've got Michaelangelo on my Christmas list. Holy cow, don't hesitate on this one. The price is an incredible bargain.
This is a huge book in scope and weight. It covers so much history of magic to keep all who are interested in the subject busy for a long time. Most have already covered the content of the book. But only 1 has covered that it is in 3 languages. This is one reason why it is so big. So unless you read the 3 languages of this book, you may only be reading the English part or the languages that you can read. Seems like a filler to me. But there are more pictures too.
